Hong Kong!

Ok, so it has been a while since my Mum has updated the blog.....what is new, most of you will say! These are a few snap shots of the time that my Mum spent in Hong Kong in the middle of March.

It all started with a phone call one Thursday from my Mum's work. They asked her to pack her bags and be on a plane by the Sunday morning for a week's training in Hong Kong! How lucky was she! With all hands on deck.... my amazing dad, daycare and a little help from Nana Margaret I was well taken care of!

Mum travelled with her (then to be) boss and another colleague from Sydney named Lena. She went there to be trained in the software that Leica use. The trainers came all the way from the UK!

(as it so happened, my Mum's camera died while she was away so these are a few shots taken from Lena's camera)

This is a shot of Lena (and mum in the background) out the front of their hotel. It was called the City Garden Hotel...

This shot was taken of the view from Mum's room. My Mum told me that she was in awe at the use of space that these people use. She has never seen so many skyscrapers in all her life and what fascinated her even more is that they are all built amongst loads of mountains. Apparently it is an amazing view from the airplane! Of course that is providing that the smog is not too bad when flying in....

Ovid sinking into the beers on the first night they were there. My mum told me that she had to teach him a few things about drinking! I think I recall her telling me that he was weak as piss!

Half way through the week Leica Hong Kong shouted us all out for dinner. This is the group that came from all around Asia.... and Australia of course!

This was our dinner.... can you believe that they got to choose whatever seafood they wanted! They then got taken up some dark alley to a restaurant for all of this tasty food to be cooked. Mum said it was brilliant!

On the final night Mum and Lena did a touch of sight seeing. They decided to first head to the Peak via the Peak Tram. What an experience!

To finish the trip Mum and Lena just had to go on the double decker bus that didn't have a roof! This is the view....
