The week that was...... Carn the Hawks!!!!!

Last Sunday bought the beginning of a week that our household would never forget! It was basically Mum and I versus Dad all week. Hawthorn were to play the Geelong Cats in the biggest game of the year..... the Grand Final!! The Hawks had absolutely nothing to lose and were going into the game as the under dogs. Let the hype begin!!

My first Hawks tattoo for the week.... (pity that mum stuck it on the wrong way!) It was just in time for the Brownlow Medal Count on Monday night. The biggest farce of the week given that Richo nearly won the damn thing!

Thursday bought dress up day at daycare. I was proud as punch!

Come on Mum.... Last year I won a prize for the best dressed footy supporter so I can't wait to see what I get this year!

Miss Laura said I was by far the best especially since I was sporting my second tattoo for the week.

Friday then opened the doors for all 3 of us to catch the train into the city for the Grand Final Parade. I kept telling my Dad to cheer up.... he was cranky cos he had to have his photo taken with a Hawks supporter!

Check out Sammy Mitchell and Brad Sewell close to my heart.

I was having an awesome week!

The tempo increased..... History was about to be made!

Lance "Buddy" Franklin

and Gary Ablett Junior! The excitement was certainly in the air!

10's of thousands of people turned up in the city to all experience the hype of Grand Final Week. 2 Victorian sides, the 2 best sides of the 08 home and away season and the will of the Hawthorn footy team to 'win it for Crawf' was enough!

I got myself a balloon and had a jolly time on the road while waiting for the 2 sides to show their courageous faces!

I was in awe of all of them.... even the Geelong ones! Half Cat was my favorite, I thought he was a teddy!

The Coach of the Geelong Cats, Mark Thompson

Hodgey!

Willo and Buddy lapping up the attention!

BUT THEN..............

We needed to go and visit Susan and Yale in the hospital because they (or should I say Susan....am sure Yale did not do much!) had had a baby girl!

Welcome to the world Madison Lee!!

She arrived very quickly on Wednesday in a normal fashion that was very different to the way I entered the world. Well done Susan, she is beautiful!

I was more interested in sitting back and relaxing while everyone else goo and gahed over the baby!

But then it was my turn to have a cuddle! Poor Madison nearly ended up with one less eye after I nearly poked it out!

GRAND FINAL DAY!

I was a bit nervous and wondering just how many goals Buddy Franklin was going to kick today! Nana Julie and her friend Ann came to look after me for the day as both Mum and Dad were going to the big game. Carn the Hawks!

Mum watching the MCG fill up to a crowd of over 100,00 people!

Mum and John through out the game! There were nerves, there were screams of joy and there was also lots of jumping up and down. It was all worth it because.....

this is the captain of the Hawks, Sammy Mitchell accepting the 2008 Premiership Cup!

This is the Hawks on the podium celebrating the upset of the season!

Willo and Croady!

Stuie Dew showing the crowd the Premiership Cup!

The Hawks team rejoicing in a well deserved victory!

Poor Dad.... someone needed to lose and he took it really well. He even went and had a few beers with Mum and John after the game.

Poor Dad!!

Mum and Flash

Mum and my footy Dad John!

Mum and Pete...

Mum and John again after a few more beers!

John and his weekday wife after even more beers!
The evening ended after many many beers in the wee hours of the morning. Dad had long come home and Mum caught herself a cab with the money that she has won from the TAB by betting on the winning premiership team!
The following morning Mum really struggled to get out of bed! She kept complaining of a sore head and rather large waves of nausea! But nothing was going to keep her down so off we headed to Glenferrie oval to greet the Hawks!

I found myself a comfy outdoor chair to play on.

Cousin Hamish and his Dad being silly!

Bella and me were passing time just waiting for the big moment!

Bella looking horrified at something! (not too sure what)

The mighty Hawks supporters watching as the players were being presented.

I had an awesome day! Maybe next year when we make the Grand Final again I will be able to go too!

Walking through the heart of Hawthorn! I bet these boys are Proud, Passionate and Paid up! Bring on 2009!

I'm well toilet trained!!!!

The other day I was waiting for my bath to be filled and perhaps in hindsight it was taking a little too long..... (take a look at the front of the photo)
oops'a'daisy......

I was very proud of myself cos at least it was not on the carpet!!

Me and my Nana Margaret!

Luca Kamberis

Alison and Amelie came to my house this morning so that Mum and I could meet the new addition to their family, Luca!
He is such a beautiful baby. I bet that Amelie and Chloe love to torment their little brother!

Amelie was not feeling very well so she did not go to daycare like her sister Chloe. I couldn't believe how much her hair has grown since last time we saw her. She just has loads of curls!

I was just checking that Luca did not have a temperature like Amelie. Note the bucket in the background to try and avoid any accidents!

Indiana and Me

An afternoon in the sunshine with my friend Indy is just the way I like it! We played together for hours.....
We even included Harvey....
who couldn't wait to get away from our rough hands and high pitched squeals!
Rushing to the table for some afternoon tea.
I was quite content with some cheese and biscuits...
but Indiana had eyes for much bigger things!
The swing was enjoyed by all....
and then we went on to play hide and seek. Well, it was Indy hiding and no-one looking for her!
Even Indy's mum got up to kick the ball with us.
This photo brings a smile to mum's face cos Indy looks so much like her dad!
Then came the cubby house....
peek-a-boo
then some arguments over who was opening and closing the door...
some giggling...
then some quite time on the porch between friends!
Indy loved my rocking horse...

but I did not love it when she took a liking to my red car!

I has such a good afternoon and really hope that we can do it again soon.
